Soccer mom? Working dad? College student? Avid golfer? Sports enthusiast? Or just someone who loves to drive?

Even though the novelty of paying individuals to drive a wrapped car has worn off a bit, and the number of companies who are actively seeking drivers has dwindled, there are still quite a few companies who recognize the power of mobile advertising and are looking for people who would like to drive a free car in exchange for exposing an advertiser's message to thousands of people who would see their company's message as you drive normally around town.

How Do I Qualify?

All of the sites have an online registration form ranging from 2 to 6 pages in length. You'll be asked as many as 50 questions dealing with such things as your address, hobbies, how far you drive each day, where you park your car, what expressways you use, and your willingness to attend special events.

Eligibility Requirements may vary, but generally include the following:

• You must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid drivers license and fill out the required application for each program you wish to join. Some companies may request a credit check, some may not.
  
• Your driving record, driving habits and location will be taken into consideration by the advertiser. Most advertisers require a minimum monthly driving mileage and a clean driving record with no violations within the past 12 months.

There is no guarantee whatsoever that you will be chosen by any of the advertisers. In fact the odds are against it since there are far more applicants than there are cars to be driven.

Drivers who are chosen will receive a new car which has been wrapped in a vinyl material which has been imprinted with an attractive advertisement which is theirs to drive for between 2 and 5 years (terms of contract will vary).

If you have an appropriate car already, you may be given the option to have your own car wrapped and get paid between $350 and $600 a month, depending on the advertiser, the car, and your qualifications, your area and your driving pattern. Many advertisers require that you have a Global Positioning Device installed to verify your driving pattern.

Your chances of being selected are greater if you drive at least 800 miles or more a month along heavily populated routes in your normal driving habits.

If your car, your driving habits and your location are desirable to advertisers, then it's certainly worth contacting auto wrap companies directly and putting in an application.

President Phillip Day says, "We work with advertisers directly. They can use their own vehicles, or we give them access to cars that are owned by drivers paid to carry messages." Demographic targeting systems allow advertisers to select drivers in the most densely populated urban areas." Bumper2Bumper Media's website is very attractive and geared toward attracting advertisers and owners of corporate fleets but doesn't have an online application.
