Free Jazz in Chicago Jazz Institute of Chicago is the sponsor of many free and paid jazz events. We highly recommend that you join this institute as membership offers many, many discounts at the various jazz venues throughout Chicago as well as to the Jazz Institute events. High school, elementary and college students from all over Chicago are invited to join seasoned musicians in a jam session designed for woodshedding and led by pianist Ken Chaney and trumpeter Corey Wilkes. For four days in late spring each year, the lakefront in Grant Park is packed with blues bands and enthusiasts from all over the world for the Chicago Blues Festival, the largest free blues festival in the world....
